Introduction:

Fashion street is one of the most popular local markets for street shopping in Pune. Kurtis, jeans, watches, jewelry, footwear, tops, night wear, electronics, toys, cosmetics, bags, one can name it and they will manage to find a vendor here. They get all their stuff from Mumbai. Every vendor has their own stall. The lanes inside the market are very narrow and crowded. One must be careful about their valuables and wallet. They quote prices depending on the type of customer. So one must negotiate and bargain well. Many times it's better to walk off a little after being quoted a price. Then they get real and quite better. One will also find the same products available with multiple vendors, each with his own price. So one just gotta be street smart on this street. One also has to use their judgment about sizes. The stalls are about the size of a trial room (so one can’t expect any trial rooms here) . Many of their sizes written are also not accurate, don't expect 32 to be wearable as 32 . One needs to have a look and trust the judgment. Most of the vendors however will cooperate to exchange it within 1-2 days after buying. However they only do that at a specific time, so be sure to ask what are the times for exchanges.

Most of the things are quite cheap (price wise),their quality is obviously average. At times if one is lucky though, it might even last longer than one’s branded stuff . This is also an excellent market to find clones of one’s favorite brands. One can watch out for those comical spelling mistakes (if one cares). E.g Lee Cooper might just be She Cooper and Reebok might become Reeback . Many years back these vendors were all doing brisk business on Mg Road as hawkers. The corporation later forcibly shifted them all to this new location. The market opens at about 10 in the morning and the crowd starts pouring in after 11. Till late evening the entire place is jam packed. From college students to beautiful ladies, to roadside Romeo's everyone is busy hunting down and bargaining on their favorite fashion accessories. They have a dedicated parking section too. Who says fashion is only for the rich and page 3 types. A visit here and one will realize everyone is obsessed with it in some form or the other. Overall it's a great place to visit to realize the thrill of roadside shopping.

Situated in Camp near MG Road, Pune , fashion street is quite famous for shopping fashionable stuff, like shirts, jeans, caps, goggles, ladies garments, ladies accessories, mens accessories and variety of stuff. People from all around pune come to visit here and shop. The thing a lot of people don’t like is that they bargain for stuff, and it depends on one’s ability at what price you are getting your stuff. There are many shops, some are really very good, some are so so. One can have a visit, especially if they are a lady, because ladies' stuff is present there in abundance.

What one can buy:

Shoes:

Right at the entrance of the market, one can find trendy black heeled booties for INR 500, and glitter platform sneakers {ideal for pairing in favorite summer dress}for INR 400. Once the winter is on its way out, but further inside the market, one can also come across calf-length and knee-length boots, starting at INR 2,200, and cute fluffy slippers for INR 300.

Pants:

One can jazz up the outfit with a pair of striped leggings – which could be found for just INR 200 – or one can opt for more comfy, palazzo-style pants – also for INR 200.

Dresses:

One can find a lot of stalls selling the same or similar dresses – both in short skater-cut and longer maxi-length. One can find pretty floral printed summer dresses priced between INR 850 and INR 1,150 {one has to really bargain here}. For a more formal occasion, one can also find elegant but solid-hued floor-length dresses for for higher price. 

Earrings:

Further into Fashion Street, one can find a nice jewelry vendor with earrings that would be perfect for daily wear. One can take their pick from neon tassel-style earrings, a cute trio of studs, or one’s favorite pick – gold hoops with little owls on them, priced at INR 70 each.

Denim Dungarees:

Just in time for summer – one can pick a pair of denim dungarees from Fashion Street. Available in different shades, distressed and with varying patterns – dungaree shorts are priced at INR 550, and full-length ones between INR 650 – 700.

Camo Crop Tops:

After much hunting, one might come across a t-shirt vendor who could have a camouflage-patterned crop top for just INR 200.We think it would make for a quirky addition to any wardrobe, and might even pair well with one’s new dungarees.

It’s the most important thing that when one arrives shopping at fashion street, they have to keep in mind that getting the right deal might not happen in a lightning fast way, one has to really put in their effort and convince the seller to sell the earring or jeans or top in one’s quoted price. Most of the time it falls in the midway, where it’s a win-win situation for both the customer and the seller, so reaching that point becomes immensely important. So keep that in mind and make your shopping experience a hassle free one.

There are vendors who sell soft toys, key chains, and other fancy stuff. If one visits in summers, then at the entrance of the market they will certainly find stalls of colorful glares. To save the people from the scorching heat there are numerous stalls where one can quench their thirst with sugarcane and lemon juice and ideally beat the heat. 

Reviews:

If one has the mindset of wearing brands but not spending much on them then this could be the ideal place to visit. Fashion Street Pune is one of the most affordable places in Pune where one can easily fetch good products in lower range. Mostly the first copy of all the leading brands like Nike and Adidas are available here, hence it could be a paradise for all the brand lovers, while boasting the brand but not impacting deftly in the pocket. Fashion Street is one of the best places to get whatever one wants at a reasonable rate. Although the quality of the products is unsure, some of the items one buys from here will last long without any issue while some of the items may stop working too soon. And one can’t argue with these people to give a replacement or anything like that. Because once they sell the item they don't know who you are. One of the customers who took a watch from Fashion Street said that their watch stopped working after work, it wasn’t that cheap when the person bought it but it was unexpected to break down so soon. But then it's not totally the untrusted place to shop from. It's just the quality of the products is not premium but it's okay for use. Although one should be aware to see the prices from different vendors because one person sells some product too costly while the other has a more reasonable rate. One of the customers also advises that one can have whatever they want from footwear to clothes or any utensils, kitchen stuffs but one should never shop for any electronic item from Fashion Street, which includes watches, power banks, headphones, chargers etc. As they are not at all reliable. It should be made sure that one must bargain from each and every seller because they will surely give products at some low price. About garments one customer shared their experience where they bought a trouser at a cheap rate and to their surprise it didn’t wear out. So every person has a different experience where some highly recommend while others don’t.
